Bespoke Clerical Millinery for the Discerning Clergyman

Monday 6 June 2011

Y Viva España

It’s a grim and drizzly day here in blighty and a cold wind blows through the corridors and cloisters of the convent, which today stands like the Marie Celeste, devoid of novices, sisters and yes, even Mother Prioress herself. Nun? No, not even one. This is because last night at DB Towers, Mother Prioress much emboldened with a few Benedictines declared it ‘buckets and spades time’, chuntering about the British Summer and a game of soldiers. And so it is that the elder sisters and the younger sisters, and Mother herself have shut up shop, and gone on holiday to Magaluf. Thus it is, that we are allowed back into the computer room, to bring you examples of the very fine Spanish hats they leave in their wake.

We begin, not with a black tasselled hat, for that dear reader you have already seen. No we begin with a a Spanish Parish Priest, who is entitled to wear a purple tassel and lining.

  1. I believe the correct designation of the colour of the tassel is "garnet".

  2. Dear Anon,

That is very much the spirit! We like comments like that. I have put a post it note on the fridge for the sisters.

    Thank you.
